GINGER—Bio and Credentials
Ginger's Grandfather's Snowdrops
(galanthus nivalis)
I grew up in rural Western New York state, spending long days in the woods, fields, and swamps around my home. From my parents and grandfather I learned gardening, painting, the appreciation of art and poetry, and the names of the wildflowers. Leaving home, I moved to Washington, DC where I spent 12 years studying and working. I then married, moved to Maine, and finally to New Hampshire. After 24 years working in the areas of mental health and social services, I changed careers and returned to art.
In 1995 I began painting murals and architectural finishes in Lakes Region homes and businesses. At the same time, I began studying horticulture in earnest and in 2000 opened Garden Artisans. I live in Belmont, NH with my husband, 2 dogs, cat, and bird. Our 2 adult children live in the area. My interests include conservation, art, poetry, reading, kayaking, and hiking.
